From television and podcasts to print, James J. Sexton is a prolific and in demand guest, commentator, writer and public speaker, always ready to weigh in on issues related to divorce, relationships, love, sex, and conflict resolution.
Sexton has been featured in a wide variety of television, print and online media including, but not limited to: Lex Fridman, Soft White Underbelly, Diary of a CEO, Modern Wisdom, The Daily Wire / Matt Walsh Show, Mighty Pursuit, CNN, The Rachel Ray Show, Steve Harvey, Access Hollywood, Access Daily, Good Morning America, Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live!", CBS Sunday News, CBS New York News, ABC “Nightline” News, The New York Times, New York Magazine, The New York Post, Newsweek, Vox, The Daily Mail UK, Elle, Glamour, Psychology Today, Time Magazine, Business Insider, NPR, Christianity Today, The Muslim Times, O.com, School of Greatness w/ Lewis Howes, Covino & Rich (SiriusXM), Lifehacker - The Upgrade, The Joan Hamburg Show and many, many more. His live call-in segment with “Rude” Jude Angelini on “All Out Radio” (SiriusXM - Shade45) was named to SiriusXM’s “Best of 2018” and prompted several acclaimed return appearances from 2019 to 2023.
Sexton’s recurring "How To Stay Married" segment on Steve Harvey's daytime talk show "Steve" started in January of 2018 and excited a diverse national audience over the span of a dozen additional episodes.
In 2023 a candid "no holds barred” (NSFW) one-on-one interview with Sexton was posted to the popular website Soft White Underbelly and, in less than 4 months, had “gone viral” and received in excess of 5.5 Million views on YouTube and over 10 Million views on TikTok. A follow up interview with Lex Fridman in September of 2023 had over 4.5 Million views on YouTube and over 13 Million downloads as a podcast - earning similar acclaim and further expanding Sexton’s diverse fan base.
Sexton’s first book: "If You're In My Office, It's Already Too Late - A Divorce Lawyer's Guide to Staying Together" was a #1 best seller within the first month of publication in both print, electronic and audio-book formats and has remained at the #1 position on Amazon.com for a period in excess of 47 weeks. After a rave review in the New York Times Book Review in October of 2018 the audience for Sexton’s unique and “no holds barred” approach to relationship advice expanded to an even broader national audience.
His second book: “How To Stay In Love” described, by one reviewer, as “…practical wisdom an unlikely source” hit shelves on December 31, 2019 and was met with instant acclaim, hitting the #1 “Best Seller” position on Amazon.com the week it was released and remaining there for an additional twelve weeks.
